Knowledge Park residents benefit not only from the proximity of University resources, but a broad support network for economic development. We also have strong relationships with those who support economic development and some of those have chosen to locate right here in Knowledge Park. Examples of those organizations located in the park dedicated to economic development support include:
Ben Franklin Technology Partnership:
Ben Franklin is an initiative of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development and funded by the Ben Franklin Technology Development Authority, which provides early stage funding and business support services to emerging technology-based companies, as well as small, existing manufacturing businesses.
The Erie County Gaming Revenue Authority (ECGRA) is an Erie County authority whose mission is to empower the nonprofit sector toward economic and community development. Since February of 2008, ECGRA has invested over $24 million in Erie County. ECGRA’s investments are targeted to financing the growth of small business, inspiring civic pride through special events and regional assets, impacting the economy through tourism, and elevating the region’s quality of life. ECGRA’s investment philosophy focuses on economic development initiatives, regional assets, and local government.
