Knowledge Park residents benefit not only from the proximity of University resources, but a broad support network for economic development. We also have strong relationships with those who support economic development and some of those have chosen to locate right here in Knowledge Park. Examples of those organizations located in the park dedicated to economic development support include:
Ben Franklin Technology Partnership:
Ben Franklin is an initiative of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development and funded by the Ben Franklin Technology Development Authority, which provides early stage funding and business support services to emerging technology-based companies, as well as small, existing manufacturing businesses.
Northwest Industrial Resource Center:
NWIRC is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to serving small- to medium-sized manufacturers with up to 500 employees. Guiding the NWIRC is its mission of supporting manufacturers with the resources needed for long-term success, namely providing access to best practices education, growth and planning services, benchmarking, and innovative manufacturing ideas.
The Northwest Commission is a Local Development District serving an eight-county region of Northwest Pennsylvania. The Northwest Commission serves as the Regional Coordinator for the Center for Trade Development. The CTD consists of a team of international economic specialists that contribute to the growth and strength of the Commonwealth’s economy through the promotion of Pennsylvania businesses in the international marketplace.
